Hello, and welcome to The Children's Center summer camp program for 2022. We hope this letter finds you and your family well. As we begin the new season, we would like to welcome all of our new summer families and would also like to extend a great welcome back to each of our alumni families! As our camp population grows, we are excited to meet the interests of all campers with newly improved programming. Our qualified staff will do their best to introduce your children to visual arts, athletics, performing arts, fitness, technology, adventure and more. The dedicated staff at The Children's Center is looking forward to having another great season.

Please make sure you fill out all your forms and return them before camp begins. When you return your forms please include a school photo of your child so that we can have it in our emergency book. Your child may not attend camp unless you have completed your registration, enrollment, medical, immunization forms and policy check off list.

Please return all these forms to us. Last year's forms cannot be accepted in order to admit your child to camp. We accept forms electronically,

State guidelines suggest no visitors inside the building due to COVID-19.

We will check each child at the door by taking their temperature and checking for signs of sickness. Your child will be signed in each morning and signed out each evening by our staff. Currently we will offer small pods at camp which include siblings. We will do our best to keep the same staff in the same pods to keep the risk factor low.

We now are able to connect with you via your cell number and an app called Remind app.

You will be asked to sign up so we can send important info at any time.

Please check your calendar, which is available every two weeks at camp or online. It will inform you of all the happenings at camp.

You are to send your child to camp with a bathing suit, towel, and water shoes each day, as we have daily splash time. We will take children to PV Park in Pequannock to swim in their lake. Please send your child on all trip days with a camp t-shirt. You will be given a camp shirt while supply lasts. If they don’t swim please send them with swimmies of some type. Please apply sun block in the morning and we will re-apply sun block to your child when necessary. Send a labeled container of sun block and we will keep it for you at camp. We find the spray type is the best. Your child also needs to bring a labeled water bottle to camp every day. We will be happy to fill the bottle all day for them. We also allow you to bring in a case of water for your child and we will re-place their bottle daily. Water bottles are necessary at camp.

Please pack a lunch and two snacks for am and pm in a labeled plastic zipper bag. Encourage your child to bring the bag home each day. We will put lunches in coolers with ice packs that keep them cool. We have a cooler especially for your child's water bottles. If you need something refrigerated we can accommodate you. Please provide two healthy snacks each day. Some days we will have an optional hot lunch offered at an additional cost. Every Wednesday, we have ice cream for sale at $1.00.

Please remember to inform us of any food allergy, as we see many different types of food at camp.  If your child has special diet you may bring snacks to camp and we will serve only to them.

We are very active with community projects as we continue to lead the children into the future by reminding each other how important it is to help each other. We will ask for different types of donations. If you can help, thank you. If not, there may be other ways in which you can contribute to your child's summer fun. This year we are proud to be able to do several community projects with the children and the following:

• Alex's Lemonade Stand

• The Diaper Bank at Child and Family Resources

• Local animal shelters

We do take photos of the children for camp use and social media. If for any reason you don't want your child photograph on display, you must inform us in writing. Permission is listed on the New Policy Cheek off list found online. Otherwise, we assume that it is okay to take photos. No names will ever be used.

We offer a summer camp with a conscience. We strive to provide you and your child with a pleasant, adventurous summer. We encourage you to get your child a library card for the summer if you don't already have one as we've planned regular visits to the public libraries.

As we wait for information from the State regarding COVID-19 restrictions we will follow all the rules which will be set for camp. We hope your child’s summer experience is safe and rewarding for you and your family. If there is anything you need to discuss with us feel free to call anytime or leave a message on the site.

If your child is out for the day, please call us to let us know. The summer program closes at 6:00pm each night. If you are running late, please call us to let us know. Our late fee is $10.00 for each 5 minutes you're late. We will stay with your child until pick-up. Payment is expected at pick-up time. If you need to send someone in your place, we need to know ahead of time. There is a spot on the enrollment for you to let us know all persons who have permission to pick up your child. Children will not be released to anyone not on list or provided in writing or text. Please note that all persons must show ID.

If your child should require medication at camp, you must speak with the director to discuss your child's needs. There is an additional form that has to be completed before your child begins camp. If your child is out of camp more than two days for any illness, you must inform us of their condition. If they have been contagious, the state requires you to submit a doctor's note in order to return to camp. We would like our staff to be aware of any foreseeable problems or special needs of each child enrolled in our program. We group the children in pods of all ages and qualities, and if you need to share situations with us regarding your child abilities we are always here for you.
